Cells At Work is Scientifically Adorable

Cells At Work Cover

Netflix now has a show “Cells At Work” in its library.  I came across this show several months ago on one of my favorite anime streaming sites and found it adorable.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get to finish it and then I got distracted with life but now that Netflix has it available I decided to watch it again but this time in English.

Here is a short description of what the show is about:

“Inside the human body, roughly 37.2 trillion cells work energetically 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Fresh out of training, the cheerful and somewhat airheaded Red Blood Cell AE3803 is ready to take on the ever-so-important task of transporting oxygen. As usual, White Blood Cell U-1146 is hard at work patrolling and eliminating foreign bacteria seeking to make the body their new lair. Elsewhere, little platelets are lining up for a new construction project.  Dealing with wounds and allergies, getting lost on the way to the lungs, and bickering with similar cell types, the daily lives of cells are always hectic as they work together to keep the body healthy! by MyAnimeList

or an even shorter version,

“The human body consists of approximately 37 trillion cells. These cells are hard at work every day within a world that is your body. From the oxygen carrying Red Blood Cells to the bacteria fighting White Blood Cells, Get to know the unsung heroes and the drama that unfolds inside of you. Written by Crunchyroll

It may sound kinda “blah” but believe me….it is worth a couple of hours of your life to watch all 13 episodes.  I really enjoyed this show.  We need more shows like this or just more of this show in general.

How cool would it be to be these characters for Halloween? First, it would require little to none effort to recreate the Red blood Cell or the White blood Cell costume.  Secondly, it would just be funny. You could go as a couple or have a huge group of people. The combination is endless.

I will tell you this, usually, I like anime shows better in Japanese with subs but this show is good no matter which language you watch it in.  The subtitled version was a little harder for me to keep up with just because of all the fancy scientific lingo.  I found the English dubbed version to be better in that sense.  Either way, I am encouraging everyone to watch it.  It is a fun, cute, and entertaining little show with a lot of educational learning to coincide with.

Warning

If you don’t approve or like violence then this isn’t the show for you. If you are able to watch violence that I know you are going to love this show.
